This policy explains what information Dulne collects when you use our ride-hailing app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Dulne is operated by Sentryx Technology, based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
When you register, we collect your name, mobile number, and email address, and store a securely hashed password. We use your mobile number to verify your identity by one-time passcode (OTP) and to contact you about your rides.
We collect precise (GPS) and approximate location data while you use the app to find nearby drivers, calculate fares and routes, and share your live position with your driver during an active ride. Location is collected in the foreground while the app is open and in use for a ride; we do not track your location when the app is closed or not in use.
To protect your account from unauthorized access, we collect a device identifier, device model name, and operating system version each time you sign in. This lets us recognize a new or unrecognized device and ask you to confirm it's really you before granting access.
If you choose to set a profile picture, the app can access your camera or photo library. We only use images you actively select or capture for this purpose.
If the app offers in-app voice calls between riders and drivers (for coordinating pickup, for example), we access your microphone and audio settings for the duration of that call, and may use Bluetooth to route audio to a connected headset. Call audio is not recorded or stored by us beyond what's needed to connect the call.
We keep a record of your rides — pickup and drop-off locations, route, fare, and payment status — so you can see your ride history and we can resolve disputes or support requests. When you pay through eSewa, Fonepay, or our in-app wallet, the payment itself is processed by that payment provider; we store the transaction result and reference (for example, amount and status) but we do not receive or store your card, banking, or wallet-provider login credentials.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service) to send you ride status updates and other notifications. This requires sharing a device push token with Firebase.
We may collect basic technical data — such as app version, crash reports, and network status — to keep the app stable and fix bugs.
We do not sell your personal information.
| Party | What's shared and why |
|---|---|
| Drivers | Your name, pickup/drop-off location, live location during the ride, and contact details needed to complete the trip |
| Payment providers (eSewa, Fonepay) | Payment amount and transaction reference, to process your fare |
| Google Firebase | Device push token, to deliver notifications |
| Google Maps Platform | Location and route queries, to display maps and calculate directions |
| Legal or regulatory authorities | Only where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Dulne, our users, or the public |
We retain account and ride information for as long as your account is active, and for a further period afterward as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, or to resolve disputes. When this period ends, we delete or anonymize the data.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted network connections and secure on-device storage for sensitive tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Dulne is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required to hold a ride-hailing account in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
